Good place to learn in Winter/Colorado?

Hi!I have been doing a little whitewater kayaking in Colorado, but with no training. This has been great fun, but not too safe at all. Can anyone recommend a good source to learn hands on in the winter? I am a klutz, so would rather start with a private lesson! It would help me alot to work with someone who would not laugh at me My husband is usually my outdoor buddy, but, even though he is a great athlete, he is not comfortable in the water, and does not want to whitewater kayak anymore. He says he hates rocks. I think whitewater kayaking is my sport, even I am probably older than most people starting out (fourties). I already love it, even with more swimming than boating up by Deckers!I am also hoping to find some beginner kayakers to boat with. Thanks for any suggestions,ColoradoJulie

Its never too late to start. I would start by looking for a club near you that has pool sessions and use the winter to bombproof your roll then in the spring go to RMOC or any of the local schools/teachers. And if you have the cash and time head to otterbar in california to learn. Have fun.

Go to the huge pool that CWWA runs for kayakers on Sunday evening in Westminster.
