Why cant I respond to posts?

This has happened periodicly over the last few months, but recently I have been denied altogether. When I try to respond to a topic it sends me back to the index instead.

I know others have had this problem; anyone know how to fix it?

do it twice

Does the same thing to me, I figured out that you just try twice and then it works. I think Frenchy just set it up that way so that spur of the moment comments got re-thought. You had to be serious to respond to posts. Just kidding, but it works, adios, Atom..

Sometimes I can try again and again and just keep getting the index. This one went first try. Can't figure it out myself.

I had this problem awhile back and had to go into my security settings section and allow all cookies and lower one of my other security settings. I wish I could tell you more. The details Frenchy gave me worked though.

Found the thread where Frenchy helped me out with a similar problem. Here's what he told me to do:

Quote:
Count, sounds like your PC may be locked down a bit too tight. If you have firewall software installed, i.e. Zone Alarm, Norton Firewall, or other firewall utility, then make sure the software allows Cookies and Session Cookies for mountainbuzz.

Same thing applies for your browser - check your Internet Security settings for this. On a PC running windoze and IE, open your browser and go to: Tools > Internet Options > Privacy > Sites. Add mountainbuzz.com to your list.

Hope that helps.
It worked for me. Here's the link to the thread, too: http://mountainbuzz.com/viewtopic.ph...ghlight=#27346

Good luck.

Dave,

This always happens to me the first time I try and post a reply, I believe it is the system "automatically logging me in". If you watch you aren't actually logged in just by going to the site as one might assume if you clicked the tab for "log me in automatically on each visit". It waits untill you try and do something that would require a password and then signs you in. This is probablly your issue but it sounds a bit more random so i dunno....

Hey Dave.. Thanks for bringing this to my attention. I was able to reproduce the error on a Mac and hope to get this fixed soon. Actually planning on upgrading the system over the next few weeks, which may fix the issue altogther. In the meantime, sorry for the inconvenience and be sure to follow the instructions posted in COUNT's message above.
