Thanks for the great feedback. We have made some updates:
- Fonts have been made a tad bit larger
- The sides are now dark blue
- The forum section background is no longer white but light grey
If you want a dark option, the short term solution is to use the Chrome extension that Buckman posted about
In the long run we will consider a child style if we can make it work. Basically a child style is supposed to inherit edits to the parent style. So if we are able to support one parent style where ongoing edits are made to the parent but things are working fine on the child then we can offer our dark version. In the past we've had issues with this but we are willing to try again once most of the other tweaking has been done.
Every forum I frequent has been going to this same basic look and layout. Did Vbulletin pull support for an older heavily used version or something?
Yes, this site is running on vBulletin 3, a platform and version that's very popular. vBulletin 4 was not fully baked and vBulletin 5 was even worse. Most forums are switching over to XenForo which is built by some of the former vBulletin developers. We will probably hold out on this platform for a couple more years and then switch once XenForo 2.1 is nicely settled.
