Don't mind the font size or the change, just hurts the eyes. Same thing with some green or blue or some mellow color would be great by me.

The blue background with light letters is far easier on the eyes than this dark on white format. Please do not fix things that are not broken.

Every forum I frequent has been going to this same basic look and layout. Did Vbulletin pull support for an older heavily used version or something?

It would certainly be nice to have the option to go back to something similar to what it was before but still keep this one for those who prefer it. Having been the admin of another forum that never took off, I know its not too hard to change colors and make a "dark" theme.

One more vote for toning it down a little and making it bolder.
I have to admit That it is hard to read with my old eyes.

Thanks for the great feedback. We have made some updates:
- Fonts have been made a tad bit larger
- The sides are now dark blue
- The forum section background is no longer white but light grey

If you want a dark option, the short term solution is to use the Chrome extension that Buckman posted about:
https://chrome.google.com/webstore/d...khdbieeh?hl=en

In the long run we will consider a child style if we can make it work. Basically a child style is supposed to inherit edits to the parent style. So if we are able to support one parent style where ongoing edits are made to the parent but things are working fine on the child then we can offer our dark version. In the past we've had issues with this but we are willing to try again once most of the other tweaking has been done.

Yes, this site is running on vBulletin 3, a platform and version that's very popular. vBulletin 4 was not fully baked and vBulletin 5 was even worse. Most forums are switching over to XenForo which is built by some of the former vBulletin developers. We will probably hold out on this platform for a couple more years and then switch once XenForo 2.1 is nicely settled.
