Suggestion

Is there anyway to change things so that when someone makes a post to the Eddy, that it doesn't get posted to the "Most Recent Topics" box? That way the OT crap doesn't clog up that feature and then we can more easily ignore the garbage posts without getting a constant reminder of it.
It would also allow the topics that we all come here to read, to not get bumped from the box so quickly.

Just a thought

That does sound good. I don't use that box much myself. when I first open the index, I click on "new topics since last visit" or something like that. Then you get a page full of stuf you haven't seen, even though it will contain all the eddy stuff you want to ignore.

I know that we keep talking about the new software but yes it is coming soon and my understanding is that it will have several slick search features.

We have been working on the import scripts from our current software to the new software and we are almost done. I have to work on the interface (trying to make it feel similar to the current site) and then we should be able to announce a roll out date.

We will be able to have the recent threads not include The Eddy (user defined with time) and that way you can configure how you want to see your info.

I like to click on View All Posts Since Last Visit. I get to see it all and choose which ones I want to click on and which I don't. If I see an EDDY post I can just ignore it. Leave that alone.

You will be able to setup a filter which will allow you to choose which forums you want to see all new posts from. That way you can filter out The Eddy (or Snowriders, etc) and only see the new posts from the forums you want.

Also, we will not be loosing any posts and we even have some backups of some old forum software that we will be trying to restore. The idea is that old posts (Beta, historical flow info, etc) can be useful information. So we will try to get back as many old posts as possible (still need to test that import).
