Hmm, the Buzz is a "free" site for users that relies on ad revenue to exist. The Facebook page should drive traffic to the Buzz, which keeps the advertisers happy and keeps the site up and running. Question: Do you bitch about ads on the radio or television? How about newspapers? Think about it...

Riparian - very valid points and analogy.

Much like the demise of newspapers and radio, people have found alternative means of gaining information. Newspapers are loosing traction to the ever available flow of information at their fingertips (internet) and radio is loosing the battle to Sirius. Why? Because both have less and less valid content and are chocked full of ads and commercials and people (IMO) don't want to take the time to filter through them. (So to answer your question, hell yes we do) In this house we axed the newspaper about 12 months ago after a lengthy period of evaluation....we also have Sirius. Not to say that these are positive solutions for supporting existing businesses....it's just a reality.

Driving more traffic just means more yahoo's on the buzz bitching about turkey legs and whistles. Inevitably people will find other means of sourcing their beta so they don't have to filter through the crap.

We're used to MountainBuzz being free. We like the exchange of information and ideas. Do we like it enough to pay for it, or do we continue to enjoy it for free? Either way, the site exists for us to use and enjoy because someone pays. Ain't no free lunch...

I've loved MB for a long time but this type of change is enlightening. Great picture of SLURRY PIPE! And A truck full of boats.

Hey, c'mon! It's not so bad. I just saw the Old Spice "After Hours" bodywash ad/link that promised to help me smell "like a man". Personally, I'm looking forward to sharing that manly scent with many cuties who will be utterly smitten. Win-win as I see it...

Bump. The flow has picked up and new photos are being regularly posted. It's time to return to the old way.
