Definitely too big, much like the boating community. What we need is a website where people can choose who they want to share content with. I'd call these people your "friends". You can share status updates on something I'd call your "wall" with your friends and they could respond. You could post pictures, send private messages to one or more "friends", and even access external applications. That would be awesome and really keep out the rift raft posting shit with worthless content.

Could it also have a little button to click if you "like" something your "friends" posted?

Boating on the internet = blowing up!

Actually Boating = not that popular

In the last few years, I think there has been a change in the boating community.

Core Kayakers - same, this will never go away

New Kayakers - down, kayaking is not as cool as it used to be

Kayakers making babies - its the big thing, get a raft and take the family

New rafters - huge, I'm not sure why but the class III overnighter crowd is insane.

I think this is a big reason for the rafter tech threads dominating the board. The fourms should be self moderating. This is a job for the cube monkeys who don't have anything better to do and don't mind having a rep for a grating personality. All the rafter gear shit should go in gear talk. All the "can anybody help we with shuttle in six weekends on the Ark" should go in trip planner. If it's posted in the wrong place, the cube monkeys should come hot and heavy with, "wrong fourm fucktard".

If someone is starting the same thread from last week, said monkeys should apply the somewhat helpful and but certainly rude approach of posting the link to the tread they should have been able to search for.

Lastly, Chunder-style humor should remain.

Dumbest idea ever. What we need is a site where we could put our riveting videos of running the play parks... and those videos could be put to bomb ass rap music.

True that.

Put me in the kayakers making babies category. The core kayakers shouldn't have to put up with my stupid rafting questions. Start a new rafting section. And while you're at it a new Mountain Biking section since kayaking is gonna blow this year.
