Editing Posts

Is there a way to go back and edit a post after you post it, or is that not an option yet? Hopefully I'm just missing where the button is hid.

The edit button should be right next to the quote button in the bottom right hand corner of your post. You do have to be logged in though.

I'm not seeing the button where you say it is. I have a report post button next to the quote button at the bottom of my screen.

I think there is a time limit on how long after you post you are able to edit. I'm not sure how long you have but I am sure that someone that's a veteran to the sight can answer that!
When I posted the other day the limit seemed to be fairly short.

I think there is a time limit and it's something like 10 minutes.

Yep, now I see the edit button at the bottom. Thanks for the explanation guys. 10 minutes seems like an awfully short time. Hey Buzz crew. Can't we lengthen that time to at least a day? Is there a reason behind having it so short? Is there that many people that edit their posts that this is a problem of some sort? Just curious.

The 10 minutes may be wrong, but I thought by posting that, someone that really knew would correct me.

It used to be that you could edit it as long as it was the last post in the thread. But once someone posted after you, you couldn't go back and eat your words. I'm not sure if that's how it still is or if it is a time limit thing. Andy?

It is set at 15 minutes. I am game to set that to a longer period but if we have problems then we will have to shorten it again. Post your thoughts here and we can tweak this as needed.

I like the short time limit and I like the idea of not being able to edit it after it is the no longer the last post.

People should think about what they post before they hit submit. If they believe in what they are about to say and they don't give a rat's ass what anybody thinks about it then they should go ahead and hit the button. If they don't think about it before they hit the button and they say something stupid that they wish they didn't say then they deserve to look like the dorks they are.
