Poll: How many kayakers also ride dirt bikes?

Just curious as a forum for dirtbikes would be very cool I think. Somewhere to catalog different rides in/around colorado and all over the rockies even maybe

Just curious

Good idea! The bike trail system is huge.
No hard core stuff but enjoy moderate trails, and dirt roads on the KLR.
Have longed over 2500 miles in the last few months.
The Poudre area is on my list to ride, while on a boat trip.
Need to find a receiver hitch carrier for shuttles and stuff.

Yeah... I got a WR450 last season and just bought my wife an 06 WR250 this week.

Stoked for the double sport kayak/dirtbike weekends in Crested Butte. Nothing quite like hucking all morning on the peak flow and then blowing dirt in your buddies faces all afternoon on the mighty Star Trail... My god that trail is amazing!

Got 4 weekends in the dessert already this year on my new (to me) WR400. Not a huge fan of Westwater, but one day on the water with a Friday night and Sunday morning ride (Moab, Rabbit Valley, Green River) would make for a damn fine weekend.

Marty, let me know when\if your bringing your bike to CB this year.

You betcha. Mostly just track though since we have about 6+ tracks to choose from within 50 minutes or so. I try to get out a few times a week or more depending on weather.

(www.thumpertalk.com) 4 good info

next race is @ Erie March 26 if anybody wants to go!

I also ride (as if you had to ask) - just melted down mine the other day (jug, head, piston, crank) so I am lookin for a new one. The track down at big bend by salider is ok, we ride a ton of the trails here around bv/salider/taylor park areas.

Any of you guys or gals have sugestions to get into this. Is it easy to hook up with people to ride with. What kind of bike is good for entry into the sport.

Sundown...

Just like with kayaks... there are beginner/intermediate/pro level bikes out there. Kayaking and dirtbiking are the two funnest things I have ever done (without being naked...).

Bottom line, if you are trying to get into the sport, I would look for a Honda XR 200 or 400 (depending on your size) or a Yamaha TTR 230 or 250ish type of bike. They are very easy to shift/ride and don't break down much either...

I'd say Frenchy should look into adding a dirt bike section here!!! Looks like a few folks would take advantage of a forum to discuss rides/hazzards/races/you name it...

Frenchy.... give me a call on my cell.
