I just picked up an older prijon fly for a c note. For straight-up down river paddling some of the older boats are a bargain and super cheap. Keep an eye out. ...I liked the fly because its a great big water boat, best plastic out there (nice to know when buying an older boat that might have had days in the sun), rolls like butter and my new-b friends can hop in and I couldn't give a shite if they loose it. Scan the for sale adds and you might find something a little lighter on the wallet.
