That is the most fucking ridiculous thing I have ever heard. If they tried to make me wear one of those I would strap the thing to their nuts.

It's beginning to feel eerily like the novel 1984.

So are the recent American regressions more McCarthyist or Orwellian?

The tree of liberty must be refreshed from time to time with the blood of patriots and tyrants. It is its natural manure.

I read some of the comments and some of the people were very confused. Seems like a couple people thought this was the Airlines doing. Clearly we just have the most rediculous people running our government. Should a requirement like this pass I believe the airline industry would be driven to near collapse.

Whichever is less idealistic.

Wow, THAT will "work". I'm sure no terrorist on a suicide mission could figure out how to remove or disable this bizarre device.

Don't take this thing seriously.
This could never be implemented, I mean, just never.
Despite its obvious illegality (which yeah, I'm not so naive as to think the Bush administration couldn't shove it past Congress anyway), customer outrage, and thus, airline non-compliance, would doom this.

This sounds like a pet project of someone in the DHS who's got a chance to make a quick buck with his stock in the patent.
