Upper Deso Threat

I just learned that the BLM Vernal Field Office has scheduled a November oil and gas lease sale that includes a new parcel in Upper Deso. CPAA has written a letter of protest, but it would be good if the river community was also at least aware of this and wrote letters or Emails protesting it:
Vernal Field Office
170 South 500 East
Vernal, UT 84078
Field Office Manager: Ester McCollough...
Phone: (435) 781-4400
Fax: (435) 781-4410
utvnmail@blm.gov

It is either in or closely adjacent to a proposed wilderness, threats night sky light pollution, visual intrusions, spills and accidents, ambient noise from drilling, operation and access, wildlife disruptions including potential sager grouse habitat, big game migration route in area, disruption of nesting and birthing area, etc.

Herm,

Thanks for getting this info out here. Do you have any info that will help us better target our comments (Lease ID, exact location, etc.) so they will be more effective?

Thanks again,

-AH

If that is the correct project they sure talk a lot about preserving air quality, but my big concern is water quality through both ground water contamination and surface runoff..... with $73+ million slated to be brought into the 2 counties I'm sure the local governments are all about it.

Now that is more like it! Talk about restoring my faith federal judges... glad to hear that someone with the power to do so stepped in and told the BLM they are essentially full of shit.
