Turkey Leg Recipe

Griff This is for you!

INGREDIENTS:
  • 4 turkey legs
  • 3 12 ounce cans of schlitz
  • 2 tablespoons sugar
  • 2 tablespoons hot sauce
  • 1 tablespoon crushed red pepper flakes
  • 1 tablespoon black pepper
  • 1 large sweet onion, sliced
  • 2 tablespoons honey
  • 1 tablespoon steak seasoning
PREPARATION:

Combine Schlitz, sugar, hot sauce, red pepper flakes, black pepper and onion slices in a large pot. Bring to a low boil and add turkey legs. Boil over a medium heat for about 30 minutes or until the turkey legs register an internal temperature of 165 degrees F. zSB(3,3).webcrawler.com

(74 degrees C.). Meanwhile, preheat grill. Place onion slices on the heated grill and put the turkey legs on top of the onion slices. Brush with honey and sprinkle with steak seasoning. Grill over a medium heat for about 15 minutes watching carefully to avoid burning. Turn as needed. The skin should be crispy brown when the turkey legs are done.

Great recipe!

I usually just throw a tire on the camp fire and cook my turkey legs over that. I'm not sure how I feel about using perfectly good Schlitz.

Alternative seasoning

Next time just use some OSB for the fire! Why waste a perfectly good tire that can be eaten when you can use authentic redneck seasoning FTW!
