In article in Dener Post from the Associated Press stated the third warmest in the U.S. since 1880. My immediate thought was when were the other two?

Based on this graph unless someone can document that CO2 levels in our atmosphere in parts per million were higher in the 1920-1940's than it was in the 50's through 80's, I don't see any link between humans and global warming. I see 25-35 year warming/cooling trends which are well documented over the last several hundred years. As well a larger longer lasting mini-iceage that we are coming out of. This would explain the slightly higher temperatures in the 20 some year trend vs. the 1920's through the 1940's

The lower temps seem to tell a diffrent story than the Higher temps. I have to in part agree with super patriot on this. it is irefutable(scientifically) that the Earth has been warming for over 1000 years. The argument should focus on wethewr our current life styles are speeding this up. sj

pollution

One thing that is not mentioned is when the clean air act went into effect. I read an article (can't remember where) that proposed the theory that the small cooling trend from the 40's to the 70's was due largely to pollutants blocking out enough sunlight to keep things cooler. When the clean air act was established, pollution levels fell, and things warmed back up as expected. Anybody else heard this theory?

found this link.
