things to do in Idaho in August

I have business in the Boise/McCall area in August, with a week or so to goof off (flying in and out of Boise). I'm seeking suggestions on things to do and see. We are hikers, but probably only interested in dayhikes on this trip. I'm a novice boater, but probably not interested in that (on this trip) either. Thanks.

Do you like Beer? Boise has a solid craft beer scene, and if you find yourself thirsty, go check out my buddy's brewery - Haff Brewing and have a watermelon wheat. He's a local and can suggest plenty of day hikes, too.

Check out kellys white water park a in cascade. You can rent tubes and float through! Get a guide to Idaho hotsprings and hike around warm lake. Lots of great hikes to high mountain lakes up lick creek out of McCall.

Hike in Stanley!

Stanley, Idaho is about 3 hours from Boise and is full of dayhikes (as well as backpacking trips). The main salmon outside of Stanley is a class II-III run, but the hiking in Stanley is spectacular.

A guided day raft trip on the Sf payette canyon stretch is a solid day. No gear necessary. I've heard nothing but good about Cascade outfitters.

Second/third the hot springs hikes in the area. There are many closer than Stanley that are quality. But Stanley area is the best.

Sawtooths and stanley are awesome.

McCall is a great way to kill a day on the lake

In August it can be toasty. Try to plan out stuff near water and shade.

This spring break I spent the week driving from Pocatello to Challis to stanley to banks to boise on a hot spring tour. Every day was amazing.
