This is particularly rich coming from a "Both sides are to blame" guy, as that is almost certainly THE single most widespread talking point amongst Republican apologists ever since their reckless gambit was exposed! It's not only intellectually lazy, but spineless as well.
Look Schutzie, you're obviously a Republican supporter (not that there's anything wrong with that). Own it for fuxsakes! Either justify their hostage taking or nut up and admit they were wrong to pull a stunt like that. Don't try to spread the blame with false equivalence. Here's what that looks like:
I fully support the President's refusing to negotiate with the hostage takers! Doing so would have set a horrible precedent that would haunt our government for a long time, no matter who's in power. He stood up on principle and I'll admit I had my doubts. I thought he would cave (again) in the end. I'm glad I was wrong. It seems that Obamacare covers testicle implants after all!
Refusing to negotiate with those taking hostages is the right thing to do. You don't share the blame with the hostage takers for doing so. It really is that simple.
By the BTW, it's "loser".
First of all, I do not blindly support any party. I quit doing that during Viet Nam.
Second, I have said since the beginning of this nonsense that the entire issue has been about who has the biggest............ego.............and the winner would be determined by who blinked first. But, I said, we
are the losers. My position hasn't changed.
I did not and do not support the Republican's attempt to hold Obamacare hostage. I did not and do not support Obama's NO NEGOTIATION stand.
When this mess again boils over in December, my position will not change, anymore than I expect the Dummycrats and Publicans to change theirs. The publicans will try to delay or defund Obamacare. The Dummycrats WILL NOT NEGOTIATE
Let me lay my "position" out for you, so you will know how best to approach me next time you want to stick it to me.
Obamacare was jammed down our throats. It is an ill conceived, poorly executed grab at a significant portion of the GDP. It won't fail, but it will turn into a boondoggle. Another bloated government program that does not come close to serving the purpose it was intended to do, at a cost we cannot afford. It should be massively rebuilt, or totally repealed.
The Republicans have been acting like spoiled children since Obama got into office.
The Democrats have been acting like spoiled children since Bush got into office.
Neither side has our interests at heart. It's devolved into one long running "My.............ego...........is bigger than your............ego" debate. Congress and the administration, going all the way back to 9/11, have been more worried about reelection and who has the biggest........ego. Meanwhile, we are being flushed down the world's toilet.
1) More Americans continue to be unemployed for a longer period of time than any other time in our country's history. We have created a class of chronically unemployable dependents that now has over 25 MILLION members. We have not seen anything close to this, even considering the 1929 depression that lasted 10 years.
2) The economy is not recovering.
3) We spend far too much on government programs that fail
4) We need an immigration program that encourages legal immigration while making illegal immigration.......illegal. And not worth the risk.
5) We need a manufacturing base that will support our economy while making us (once again) a world player
6) We need education reform that gets the politicians and bureaucrats out of the classroom
7) We need a tax code that everyone can understand, and everyone participates in........you know, by paying a fair share of taxes
We need to enforce the gun laws now on the books, find a way to identify the whack jobs who decide guns are a great way to introduce people to their particular brand of nuttiness, and quit thinking that taking away the rights of law abiding citizens will stop the senseless violence.
9)We need a government that actually understands, and practices, "balanced budget"
None of this can be accomplished, or even debated, while the politicians are more concerned about who has the biggest...........ego.
And we aren't going to get politicians who do their job and stop the spoiled brat routine until we (you and me and the rest of the "working families") stop falling for the spin doctor propaganda and stop using the same bullshit "my guys..............ego...........is bigger than your guys........ego" rhetoric.
The continuing resolution just passed does not address the economy, the debt limit, immigration reform, education reform, tax reform, or a balanced budget.
It does not avoid the shit storm coming in December.
It is not a radical budget, one deserving of such debate and acrimony.
But the politicians in Washington haven't been able to deal with any of the real issues that threaten us, cause, you know, they been wagging their............egos...........around and insisting that theirs is the biggest.
We need a congressional spanking in 2014 and 2016. Throw the entire bunch out and elect new people who at least are not starting with all this baggage.
Yeah, it's both sides fault, and I've been saying that for a long damn time. Even before the spin doctors started saying it.
