I spent a week running the Gila wilderness run back in 2010. We had flows in the high hundreds. I've never gotten around to doing a blog post on it, but I have gallery from the small wp camera posted at http://wwik.org/gila/
It's a great run! I would rate it III. I don't recall standout rapids we scouted or anything, but there's wood and swift current consistently. The sycamores are spectacular. The camping is great, with some beaches and lots of benches. We had at least 4 different camps, and one of our camps was a layover at Turkey Creek so we could hike up and camp near the hotsprings.
We didn't have much luck finding ruins, though the area must hold secrets for those willing to hike and explore more than we could.
I got one of my favorite photos on that trip, a shot of water and bedrock in Turkey Creek.
It's a great little run and I hope the bastards don't dewater her!
