THE CORPORATIONS WOULDN'T HAVE TO CORRUPT wASHINGTON,UNDER THE SCENARIO YOU POSE BECAUSE THEY WOULDN'T NEED TO THEY'D ALREADY HAVE THE POWER! JEEZ

Of course I make a distinction between small business/free enterprise and large scale business/corporations [I should have worded it differently ]and recognize the legitamacy of many of thier functions. But our economy has evolved to a point where business's primary function is to generate short term profit by any angle possible, rather than to provide goods, services ,and employment , to the citizenry, with profit incidental to that. It's ass backwards ,wev'e put the cart before the horse in the name of greed.I actually think we want alot of the same things but have vastly different approaches to achieving it.I think it is naive to think society can function efficently or justly without management of the commons on behalf of the populous= government, wether we like it or not ,so we should try to make the best one we can and demand accountability. It is an on going experiment thier power is temporary,if you recognize wealth as a form of power and make business rights preeminent then you are permananently empowering those who control the wealth.Of course there should be some degree of wealth, but unlimited? If there is a limit who sets it and who enforces it if not the government? We need to get back to 'the government is the people' or we merely devolve into a new aristocracy[oligarchy] that maintains a facade of legitimacy.

I suppose there are degrees of libertarianism, and I don't dislike Ron Paul,I agree with his positions on the war and think he has big balls telling it like it is that terrorism is a backlash against bad foriegn policy,Ward Churchill got crucified for that, though he's not particularly likeable. There are some truly hienous libertarians led by the AYN RAND INSTITUTE, WHO EQUATE GREED WITH FREEDOM and ,have an absolute contempt of working people, thier spokesman actually said 'workers are a dime a dozen' on the Thom Hartman Program.they advocate a sort of hyper trickle down philosophy meets who gives a crap about the little guy bacause he's a miserable failure that didn't apply himself,POS WORKER.tHEY BELIEVE ALL HUMAN ACHIEVMENT IS THE DIRECT RESULT OF SELF INTEREST and aren't interested in sharing the proceeds. They acknowledge none of the unjust mechanisms by which wealth and power were attained in the first place nor do they care.Nor do admit any benefits or advantages they have garnered from government to position themselves to try and undermine it.

I am not a libertarian or republican either, and no longer associate with the dems too, but I used to. The main difference I see with RP and the D/R institution is that both the D&R are for dismantling government, handing it over to the corps (done that), plus bankrupting the country and government again for those cronies, corps, and banks.

At least RP is talking about what will be reality for many people in the coming future. The country is going broke, the monetary policy is failing the average citizen, and we can't provide gov't services (let alone war, school, etc) if there is no money.

Crazy talk, fiscal responsibility. repubs have always talked it while robbing us blind, dems have done a fair job of at least balancing the budget, and our nation continues to get deeper into the red.

Get over party this, party that, the only hope we have is to focus on the people, and who their advisors and funders are. Party politics are just kool-aid to keep us from seeing they are all in the same club.

Ron Paul is awesome! I am going to write him in this year. I was apathetic before and only voted on issues and left the president field blank because I do not believe in voting for the lesser of two evils.

The media did a great job at blacking him out this year. I will never trust the media again after what they pulled off this year and last with Ron Paul.

It is sad that the media picks the candidate and for that matter, the president.

Join the revolution.
Quit drinking the kool-aide every four years.
Find out why voting for Clinton/Obama or McCain is just voting for how fast you want the train to be traveling when it drives off the cliff.

Ron Paul's new book is out today:

Don't waste your vote. I tried voting outside the box in 2000 with the green party and enough other saps did that we got W. The sad truth is that no candidate other than the dem or repub has a prayer of being elected. So pick whichever one you hate least or else.

That is rather small minded.

Jus keepin it real, folks. Get your heads out of the clouds. I don't "think like that", I'm observant enough to see that that's the way it is. What you call small minded I call pragmatic...realistic. Perhaps I've grasped and dealt with what your small mind is incapable of processing: our system sucks and there's nothing you can do about it. Deal with it.
