Theophilus, my 4runner was made in Japan, it says so on the door. It is a 1999 model. Are the new Tacomas truly made in the US, parts and everything, or assembled here? I would bet they get some major breaks having the vehicles built here.
It is nice of Toyota to create some jobs in the USA, but the corporate money still flows to Asia.
I weighed buying American, but the foreign car quality beat the GM and Ford options (Small pickup or SUV) hands down. When China starts cranking out quality vehicles, we are really going to be in trouble. They will be 2/3 the price of Japanese cars and just as good.
