Any suggestions?
In Japanese, Kai may mean "big water", "the ocean", "the sea" or "paddle". Kai may also mean "change" or "the action to correct", "mediation" or "concerning oneself with". And so much more; just look it up on wikipedia. All the best, bfreeman

I think this whole thing's tacky as shit but Barry Dingle Swain sounds so much better and more distinguished than Dingle Barry Swain. I mean Dingle as a first name? Come on. And to echo my buddy yakrafter, whatever you do, do not name it ending in ..ayden or you'll be banished to the midwest!

How bout Gifford(as in Pinchot)? Gifford Danger Swain. There I contributed something.

Or Flow Torch. I'm outdoorsy as fuck.

I can't give a definitive reply one way or the other, but at least they are using this obnoxious technology for a worthy end. I mean they could be watching cats beaten by naked women in high heels. It tend to see it as the online "boater version" of the Baby Book.

You should read (or listen to) freakanomics by stephen leavitt. he does a long chapter on names and how they can steer your life or not. some names are strong indicators of white-trashdom. I don't remember them all but I do remember that hunter and archer made the list. I also remember that nick names as proper names made the list. don't mane your kid Mike. Micheal is fine but just Mike=trash.

naming your kid loser, winner, or similar predictive names does not seem to make a difference.

funniest two names in the book: orangejello and lemonjello. pronounced a bit french, not as a product.
Did have anything about the chances of a kid being a pothead.

Name him Fritz. I don't know why, just call him Fritz. If you spend too much time considering the issue, you'll just end up with something you just want to change later. If you name him Fritz, and the paddling thing doesn't work out, he could become a yodeler, or take up the accordion. What an incentive to learn to read water! My argument-

No one has suggested MacGyver yet? Or go all the way with Angus MacGyver. He could choose to use the first or middle name, neither of which would invite ridicule.
