I know you're not asking for a girl name but you should consider Sunny. You can play on the alliteration... Sunny Swain. I knew a girl named Sunny, she was hot. No pun intended. Its outdoorsy too.

As far as a boy name, how about Stonewall or Stone. My great grandfather was named Stonewall and went by Stoney. Again the alliteration... Stone Swain. Could work, sounds tough enough (again no pun intended), and it's natural.

Looks like we're leaning towards Bryson Caleb. We like the sound of it. Also a nice tie to Bill Bryson (Walk in the Woods, In a Sunburned Country, etc), and Bryson City is the county seat of Swain County, North Carolina. We really like the Nantahala area, and both of us have some Cherokee in us.

If you are from Dayton then you could appreciate ;Tecumseh[ altough he was Shawnee not Cherokee],Simon Kenton[my great great great....grand pappy].or Woody Hayes Swain.Archie Griffin Swain?
