OT - idiot scammers on the swap

i could not believe this idiot scammer who emailed me from the swap - LOL.

from "ws_superez@yahoo.com" as the actual sender email address:

too bad the boat already sold - i would really consider shipping to chicago. if i had the time i would sign this idiot up for a bunch of porn sites and overload his fakey email account.

What's up with the swap anyway? Is it gone for good?

I have noticed that there are some other problems on the site too. There is spam in the playpark forum, and last week when I tried post a reply it said it did work due to some sort of failure of some kind. I did it again and got the same message. Then I gave up and later saw the reply posted twice. Ugh!

Anyone else having trouble?

I wouldn't automatically assume this guy is a scammer. "I am interested to buy it" might be a grammatical tip off but the hardcore scammers are usually much more obvious.

FWIW, I sold my EZ at the beginning of the season to a woman in Salt Lake City. I told her upfront that she'd have to paypal me in advance and accept the boat as is, which she did. She paid the fees for Confluence to ship it out there via Forward Air. Unfortunately for me, I wasn't thinking about the cut paypal takes when we negotiated the price.
