Name our baby girl contest!!

My wife and I are having our first baby and we are trying to come up with some ideas for names. We don't know yet if we are having a boy or a girl but there are already a few good threads for boy names so we are looking for outdoorsy girl names. Last name is Turner...six pack to the winner!

Just give her a name that people won't laugh at. Kitchy names for kids often end up so lame for them. I know a woman named fern. Poor gal. A name is good if it opens the world for her to define herself, nit one that gives people a first impression, especially one of her parents! Well congrats! No matter what you name her i hope she is your joy.
I am a river, babe - I've got plenty of time, I don't know where I'm going, I'm just following the lines..... - "We are water" by Shaye

I'm with Laura. Make sure it passes the 5th grader test - think about what a teasing 5th grader could do with whatever name you come up with before you put it down on the birth certificate.
Nothing in the world is more yielding and gentle than water. Yet it has no equal for conquering the resistant and tough. The flexible can overcome the unbending; the soft can overcome the hard. - Lao Tse

How about Poudre?

Just kidding, I really don't have anything to contribute, but I wanted to say congrats to you and Carly. I can't wait till he/she's old enough that I can share my favorite Turner river stories. I was on Westwater just this weekend and we had a good laugh over a certain Westwater sleeping bag incident that you may or may not have been involved in. Best of luck with everything.

Be creatiive with the middle name and the kid can choose to use it or not later in life.
Not too crazy, but my son's name is Kyler Canyon.
My wife did threaten that Canyon would be his first name if he arrived early and I was still away on a planned whitewater trip. Then I would have had to explain the whole event/circumstance repeatedly, forever.

I give it about 3 more days until you're so sick of people suggesting names that you'll likely commit several heinous hate crimes. Having said that, I knew a woman named Paulina, pronounced Pow-lee-nah (not paul-lee-nah). You could call her Powell for short and none would be the wiser that she's really named after JW Powell!
On the river, I can abandon who I am and what I've done. However brief it lasts, while on the river I am nothing important and everything insignificant. I am flotsam, and happy to be so.
