All I ask is that the gun-haters don't use this for political purposes... let's try to keep politics out of boating.
Kind of a broad stoke there if you are saying that anyone that has posted on this topic as a gun-hater.

As noted before, guns on the river are questionable, but a cannon mounted on your raft's bow leaves no doubt as to who's in charge and who the picnic bench belongs to.

I've always wanted a raft for multidays, but now I'm leaning towards a military amphibious assault vehicle, to make sure that there is absolute clarity this my camp is my F$CKING Territory! A nice flag with your name on it that you can plant in the ground, and maybe a few land mines from the military surplus store wouldn't hurt either.

agreed!

I think it all comes down to responsiblity, ( just like eveything else) Im of the camp that yes, My rifle comes, (45/70 guide gun) but never comes out. I have thought about getting it out twice in 20 plus years. One time for a bear that just wouldn't quit, and once for a group of smugglers, past by on a night float thru big bend.

I was supposed to go on another trip in big bend, and get this shit, some chick had a revolver, loaded, one under the hammer, and kept in a dry bag. someone was unloading boats, tossed the bag, and BOOM. the damn thing went off. its amazing that no one was killed. and again, it all come down to responisbility

sorry, my speller, has the day off

this past weekend was kinda wild on the upper C for sure..
we saw the cops float by our campsite pretty late on there way to rancho saturday night.
then my buddy was floating down sunday and came across, no pun intended, a nude lady enjoying some Cunnilingus on the boat cruising down the river....I guess it was quite the show for all the families passing by.

I'm not saying that anyone who has posted is a gun-hater.

It's just the opposite really. Everyone seems pretty understanding about packin' heat. I've always wanted to mount a 50cal to the bow of my drifter... for pelicans more than anything else but a 50cal and a pirate flag would send a pretty good message the the Jones's of our world.
