I think maybe it could be a good thing. Sometimes you are just interested in boating stuff, and don't care who thinks who's resort town sucks, or who hates which political parties. That's just my $.02. It may make it easier to sort through the crap sometimes when there is a lot of chatter.

i think it will ultimately be a better place after we all get used to it for a couple of months. everything is lost and no one knows there way around right now, but that'll change.

and andy, ha ha ha ha wtf?? did you pull over and go back and kick him while he was down at least?

I tend to agree that the different forums, well, they suck for shootin' the shit. If this site had thousands of users posting multiple times per day, then, I could see the stratification. The buzz is the buzz because it brings like minded people together to discuss boating which is the backbone of the buzz. The flair comes from all the off topic shit; thought provoking at times and down right rude and obnoxious at other times. Sorry Buzz Crew! I'm with the nostalgic buzzards on this one. No more censorship at the buzz!! it is self governed by ribbing and virtual hazing. I think if the user community wanted a very dry and ON topic discussion all the times, then we'd log on to Boatertalk.com. It's kind of like a kitchen at a party, people like the kitchen. If I have to leave the kitchen for a specific reason(piss or trip planning), then I know where I need to go.

Maybe I will get used to it but I am having a hard time changing. Of course this is from someone whose routines rarely change. I was disappointed when a post i put up in this forum was moved to the eddy, had a hard time tracking it down. Well, not that hard but i had to look. Should'nt this thread be in the eddy?

Get rid of the eddy and the paddle parks stuff. let that flow in the main forum. the other forums seem to serve specific purposes, these two seem like we've invented a purpose.

J: I can see that as well. It seemed as thought during the season when people posted randon sh%t in the boater's forum ie. jokes/politic/sports (other than yakin' or raftin') some one would always bitch, then it would turn into a 7 page thread about people bitchen while others are looking for boating related threads. I do agree that is seems like we invented a purpose to post these things and that it may bring people into the buzzard community who don't give a rats ass about boating at all. Good point, confuses me on what side I take about the new format. Hmmmmm?

Seems like the biggest complaint is the moving of the off topic banter. Am I right?? Maybe it would be a good compromise to clear the eddy and let the off topic stuff lay where it falls. The rest of the few added forums seem to be well placed. People were courteously marking their topics with an OT- in front of them. The mods might end up saving each other a lot of hassles in the future trying to keep things properly sorted. Just a few thoughts.

Since we are changing things around and it seems that suggestions are being taken, I would like to recognize some groups that should be considered in the segmentation of forum topics.

For all my gay homeboys. It seems like those who prefer a polish sausage over the tuna melt have no place to go. I think they need a forum.

Maybe we should separate classes, as in class I, II, III, IV, V, and I am cooler than you because I have a death wish I can't seem to cash in categories. As you graduate to the next level in the river, you graduate to the next forum. This would control a lot of stupid questions.

A Hall of Fame forum. This is a place where the best posts do not get retired, rather they get their own fancy page, a certificate of honorable post, and the opportunity to live forever in the Mountainbuzz community

For all my college football fans. It seems erdvm1 and others need a college game day forum. We can segment this into conferences as well so you can find your favorite SEC smack talk, or maybe you are looking for the Big 10 show.

We definitely need a drunken forum. This is for those that have had a little too much to drink and decide to post. I think this one would fill up fast, so maybe we segment this one too; I am tipsy forum; I am drunk forum; I am wasted forum; Does anybody know why I am in this cold room, cement floored, exposed toilet, plastic mattress type cell place forum.

We definitely need a Nissan Xtera forum for cool Colorado, backcountry, badasses of outdoor activities. This one should be segmented into those cool enough to have an Xtera, and those so damn cool to have a YELLOW Xtera. This one is obviously going to need a graduating format including vehicle registration, jpeg photos, two letters of proof from reliable sources, and a portfolio to go into the Hall of Fame forum.

Finally, I recommend a forum for those who left the Buzz because they felt they were made fun of too much. We can call this the safe house forum. This is a place where they can gently re-enter into Buzz civilization. The safe house will have a 1-2-3 step program where individuals will learn how to post without being ridiculed. The next step will teach them what topics are supposed to be funny and which topics are supposed to be for real. The third step will educate them on how to finance a yellow Xtera. The safe house will be praised as the Buzz's greatest accomplishment because it will take ones deepest desires and transform them into reality; from the bottom to the top; Or as I saw in a kayak video one time, zero to hero.

These are just a few suggestions I have for the "playas" to consider. I do not mean to throw a rope in the river if you will, but I am confident that with a little hard work, ambiguity, and Jack Daniels, this forum will meet the expectations of all who love and want to be a part of this site.
