Hot springs that you can hike too near BV?

Are there any hot springs that you can hike too near BV/Salida? Something that wont be as commercial as the roadside ones??

Good question...

I haven't heard of any, but I'd be real curious to know. My best/ most private hot springs experiences here in the valley have been at the Antero Hot Springs Cabins. They're near Mt. Princeton Hot Springs... not real cheap but an awesome option if you're looking for a romantic getaway. The big cabin is also great for groups... we've done some birthday parties there.

I don't believe there is. I've hiked/biked most of the valley and know the maps by heart, and there are not any hike to hot springs around. All the hot springs are concentrated around the fault zones at the base of Mt. Princeton. There are several springs in the area, but they feed private pools. Some of which, like the Antero Cabins, are available for rent by the public.

I heard a rumor that there was a seep from the Poncha Hot Spring that was making a small natural pool near the old Boy Scout Camp....but I lived in Poncha for years and looked and looked and never found it. Plus they just re-did all the piping at the spring source, so I doubt there are any seeps now.

Dustin, I thought your most private romantic hotsprings experience was in Turtles Bathtub?

Linda Meyers why does it not surprise me that you were staking out a boy scout camp

Very funny. The Scout Camp had been closed for several years after multiple bear attacks on scouts in their tents..... for all the shitty comments you make about Turtle, he's really a nice guy....although it sounds like you know that all too well already...
