Montana did it, so can you! Except we did it through voter referendum (into state law thus bypassing those politicians), not sure if CO has the same referendum capabilities. Don't count on your legislators, big mining has a lot of deep pockets, and many politicians are in them.
P_McP must "think" he knows something about cyanide heap leaching. Perhaps something about their "new technology" that makes it safer, perhaps? How many years have mining companies been saying that, and it never pans out? Mining is the number one environmental disaster in Montana, and "they" just permitted a mine that will go underneath a wilderness area with an at-risk grizzly bear population. Oh yeah, and it will be allowed to pollute in perpetuity. It's all safe though, no appreciable increase of pollution in comparison to that RELEASED FROM THE SUPERFUND SITES(S) UPSTREAM. Oh wait, was that snarky?
