First of all, to address the subject of this post...Kerry screwed up and he should have just saved face immediately and apologized - whole heartedly. By not doing so, he showed his arrogance and bitterness and I will have to agree with trout_bobber that he was elitist in his actions/comments. Democrats are distancing themselves from Kerry, even Hillary, so why would they distance themselves??. Probably because they see Kerry hurting them in the short-term but not because they don't have the same contempt for Bush. So, democrats should stand up for their comrade, not abandon him. Republicans are playing the comments out to the hilt to gain politically when they are guilty of running off at the mouth, too, without apology. All are wrong (at times)and definitely not gentlemanly. What they should be doing is focusing on issues that matter to their constituants and the citizens of the US - Iraq, social security, taxes, illegal immigration, etc. Instead, they are spinning and playing the blame game. We just sit back, in our armchairs, and Monday morning quarterback, ah what a luxury.

I think I can judge character better by what someone does in the face of screwing up and Kerry definitely can't get beyond himself and clearly confess that he was wrong. See the rediculousness below and ask your self if you really believe it. A quote from Rueters and Kerry's camp.

While campaigning in California on Monday, Kerry told a college crowd: "You know, education, if you make the most of it, you study hard, you do your homework and you make an effort to be smart, you can do well. If you don't, you get stuck in Iraq."

Kerry's office said the senator had misread his prepared remarks. They said he had intended to say, "Do you know where you end up if you don't study, if you aren't smart, if you're intellectually lazy? You end up getting us stuck in a war in Iraq. Just ask President Bush

GIVE ME A BREAK!!! JUST ADMIT IT, ASK FOR FORGIVENESS AND MOVE ON.

Actually, there really is no element of free speech here at all. the Buzz is a private entity, and nobody here has any protected rights of free speech.

That's it. We're just gonna zap all these posts and overwrite them with the dialogue from Disney's Sleeping Beauty. You have no rights and if you can't talk nice we'll make you talk nice. And you might as well not say anything we won't agree with because it won't last long either. This is the forum for people who all think exactly alike. Take this over to the "I Have My Own Brain and My Own Opinion" Forum. We don't want people like you here.

MOSes that only require Red/Green color vision are:

Even if I were to begin to believe your story about trying to serve your country before (I don't), your unblinking conviction that this war deserves no criticism supercedes any obligations you have to your boss or your wife. Pat Tillman gave up a lucrative NFL career (and eventually his life) to fight for his country, and he overtly opposed the President's policies in Iraq.

If you support the president without reservation and you absolutely oppose any dissent, march right over there. Otherwise you're just another Conservative chickenhawk who wants war but refuses to serve.

Make sure keep us posted.

Ahhh, you see, you need a comma there. As in:

As it reads, sounds like you were talking about Trout's right to protest, not TO trout. Granted, I skimmed a lot of the thread, too much spewing to pay close attention.

Nevermind.

Troutbobber, your posts are doing more for the left than I ever could. Keep it up please.

Yeah, Kerry botched a joke. Bush botched a presidency.

Really though, how can W (or anyone on the right) knock Kerry for a slip of the tongue? http://www.slate.com/id/76886/

W- "You know, one of the hardest parts of my job is to connect Iraq to the war on terror."—Interview with CBS News, Washington D.C., Sept. 6, 2006

And Kerry gets crucified for a botched joke? Perhaps this is just an indication of the desperation of the right one week away from loosing the house and possibly the senate.

Let the impeachment proceedings begin.

Man, I love the irony in this:

Politics? take it over to boatertalk.

Wanna talk boating? keep it here and real on the Buzz
You've been here a week, posted 33 times and 30 of them are political. I guess you gotta find something to do after Eric permanently banned you from BT for being a tool.

Also- I guess your only response to the suggestion to join the Guard is to say that the wife won't let you? That's it? Because there are thousands of men and women serving in the Guard with wives and husbands at home. You're just too good for that, huh? Fight the good (internet) fight from your banker's chair. Just ease back and keep typing......ahhhhhhh.

Hey RushisRight,

First, cut out the insults. Its childish at best and really shows how ignorant you really are. Second, your right about millions of people wanting to kill us because we are americans. Its much worse now that we freed thousands of shiites who can live in a rogue state where terrorist groups will now flourish because of the current administrations stupidity. I support America, but not this current administration. Their cold war tactics are outdated and ineffective. If you would like to be taken seriously, do so in a manner that is respectfull. Once you start with the pussy this pussy that stuff, any points you might have are moot.

good luck
Kent
