Agreed...corporations must lead the change to better climate protection laws. I'm not a big fan of WalMart but they are making some changes that may help the environment. As Jeffery Hollender (CEO of Seventh Generation products) says in his book "What Matters Most: How A Small Group of Pioneers Is Teaching Social Responsibility To Big Business, and Why Big Business Is Listening", even if corporations do something it is better than nothing.

I found this interesting story this morning. Haven't had a chance to read it yet.:
GreenBiz News | $4 Trillion Backs Latest Call for Action on Climate Change

These are all great posts. I believe that education is the key to this problem and hopefully we are educating some folks.

harvey -- i'm superslammed right now, so i can't dig into all this stuff as much as i'd like. (really, i just hate the environment) .. anyway, awhile back i remember reading an excellent compilation of educated retorts to the cliche points climate skeptics routinely make -- exactly what you are looking for. i think it was either on grist or treehugger or worldchanging. i may have saved it to my del.icio.us file ("FauntleroySouthworth") .. i dunno. but i just did a keyword search for "climate skeptic" on grist & turned up some good stuff. go here:

WorldChanging: Tools, Models and Ideas for Building a Bright Green Future: The Debate is Over

& here:

Grist | Search | 280 Results for climate skeptic

& here:

TreeHugger: Search Results

sorry, wish i could invest a little more into this discussion .. but i'm out.

Harvey,

The "Climate Change 2007" report by the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC) will have 3 sections total. Some of the authors are available to discuss particulars if you like, although they have very been BUSY doing so.

(1) - physical science & explanations
NCAR Scientists Available to Discuss New IPCC Report on Physical Science of Climate Change - News Release

(2) - potential impacts and how society can adapt, due April 6
NCAR Scientists Available to Discuss New IPCC Report on Climate Change Impacts - News Release

(3) - mitigation options, due May 4
(not posted yet)

Here's some overview info from my org:
Understanding Climate Change - From Global Warming to Local Changes - NCAR News Center

Looking forward to another fun FIBArk. You MC'ing?

Alex
