The Conoco guy you said was pulling Bremer's strings,was Phillip Carroll[and briefly another guy],I would say it was more like big oil babysitting the NEO-CONS; ' OH NO YOUR NOT GONNA' PRIVATIZE PART OF OUR CARTEL,TIME OUT".The irony being that these ultra capitalists were all for government control when the government is in cahoots with them,ideology smideyology,in this case thank goodness,imagine how bad Bremer and Wolfy would have f'd up Iraqs oil ministry and set off the SAUDIS ,$5 A GALLON?,Saudis flood the market gas cheap?,most likely they would just sabotage fields and pipelines and blame terrorists.
Can you believe recent efforts to convince the public that supply is low ,and it is the environmental movement's fault for preventing exploration and refining capacity,the Bush administration and their minions have been laying it on heavy duty.Maybe the US should increase refining capacity,but with EPA oversight after Bush is gone,and a watchdog is back in charge of the EPA.
