Live close to where you work. Commuting sucks in Denver, our mass transit system is still in the developmental stage. If you write poems about your vegan bicycle, then you'll want to live in Boulder County. If you are a gun toting maniac and feel the need to wear your side arm to city council meetings then live in Douglas County, you will find peace. If you are looking for action, Downtown Denver is blast, there is always something going on. If you have kiddos, Cherry Creek, Boulder Valley and St Vrain are very good school districts. The coolest town is Lyons and if you work in Boulder or Longmont it would a great place to live, although they are still digging out from the floods. Lots of good folks here on the Front Range. Welcome.
PS-prices drop as you head east, there are some good communities, but you'll need to do your homework if you are on a tight budget.
