Denver Jobs

Hey all, I graduated from Texas Tech last may and took a job on BP's trading floor here in Houston but I'm quickly finding out I'm gonna go nuts if I stay here. Anybody know of any jobs in the energy industry, more specifically oil and gas? Or maybe a good place to start. Thanks for any and all help

Rusty - check out Encana, they have a big office here in Denver. That's all I know, not in the biz.

I'm pretty sure Shell has an office here in Denver. Plus they are pumping and doing research on the oil shells on the western slope. Houston is pretty much where you will have to live to go big in the oil biz and stay in the US.

Maybe get some flannel and head out...

The frontrange has all the bigguns of corporate strongholds. There are also plenty of spots outside for roughnecks if the office scenario is too much for you. Piceance basin is loaded with rigs in need of people.

encana and williams are the big natural gas folks downtown that I know of. Some oil in town, not a lot.

Master's degree of Bach.? It is hard to find an exploration job in denver w/no master's degree. Some tech jobs exist for bachelor's degrees.

It's harder to get oil exploration jobs in denver w/o experience. THere isn't that many companies here, but lot of folks wanting them.

Overall, the market is pretty friggen good to find a job though.

I've got a bachelors in finance and economics. No engineering degree so I won't have much luck w/E&P jobs. I've set myself up for energy trading, probably shoulda specified that in the original post. I graduated magna cum laude and got a job w/BP out of college in an accelerated trading training program. So I'm just getting some experience and keeping an eye out for something w/ a more desireable geographic location. Thanks for the help guys.

I could hook you up in the medical device industry here in Boulder. But if you want to stay in E&P I would look to Haliburton. They own the Western slope right now with all the drilling for oil/natural gas.

What is your degree in? If its engineering, look at covidien.com(formerly Tyco Healthcare). One particular company is Nellcor/Puritan Bennet that has moved from CA and has a ton of engineering openings.

PM me if you're interested.
