Even if she's lying
about what she knew and when, Abu Zippitydadoo (or whatever his name is) had been waterboarded 83 times BEFORE Pelosi was briefed in Sept 2002.
So what's her culpability in that? NADA.
What's her culpability in not speaking up? Hmmmm. It's illegal to reveal "secrets". If she had firm moral conviction, like say Daniel Ellsberg, she would have. But she's a politician.
So rag on NP all you want, but she never authorized or ordered torture. Cheney did.
Oh, and you want to know why? Not to save our sorry skins. Oh no. They wanted desperately to connect AlQuaeda to Iraq, to retroactively justify the invasion. Because, remember, Iraq had nothing to do with 9-11.
After the entire world stood should-to-shoulder with us going into Afghanistan, Cheney and Bush squandered America's moral authority so Bush could be a "warp resident" [typo intended] and we could rescue the oil beneath Iraq's sand.
So yeah, Pelosi's a POS politician. So she doesn't want to admit that she knew and did nothing. She's just a weak person who witnessed a violent crime and didn't have the stones to come forward. But she didn't commit the crime. That, my friend, was the Republican Bush Whitehouse. And they didn't commit that crime to protect us. No, they commited that crime to serve their own agenda.
