comcast/infinity package changes



so i came home tonight looking forward to watching the Avalanche play on Altitude Sports only to find out that Comcast has changed their package lineup.

you got it after an hour on the phone with "customer support" I am finally told that the packaging has changed and that if i want to watch Altitude Sports it will now cost me an extra $30.... oh yeah and for my extra $30 i get slower internet. (the same speed as i originally signed up for would be another $10 more)

by the way the supervisor was not only less than helpful... or even sympathetic, i was of course barely able to understand him.

needless to say i'm not exactly a happy customer.

Yes, it sucks. Comcast is basically a monopoly. Back in the early 1900's when monopoly's first made their ugly appearance, our governoment reacted and broke them up. Now our government is in bed with them.

Agreed, it's sad and depressing that companies with horrible service and overpriced products continue to excel due to their monopolies.

I have Comcast because I work at home, the techs that come to your house are less than professional to say the least. I have never had a good experience with Comcast - but the internet is more reliable than Qwest so there's that.

called a competitor today and will be switching the beginning of next week.

the new company also tried to upsell me but after only 3 times of telling them the only channel i care about is Altitude they finally got it.

also my internet will be twice as fast as my old package.... more than 2x's as fast as my new comcast package that is costing me more.

I will also write a letter to comcast (that they will never read.... or care about if they do)


anyway, thanks for letting me vent.

direct tv, they are partnered with century link for internet.

Just be careful you're not going out of the frying pan and into the fire. DirecTV has notoriously bad customer service.

Not that you have a lot of options.

I have had Dish, Directv and comcast. Out of those 3 Directv has the best service.
