Not that i think our leaders are above such a horrible act. I just don't think that is the case this time.

Nice try, the W administration did have nearly 8 mos.and disregarded specific warnings about Bin Laden /A Q including the use of commercial aircraft .They kept Richard Clarke as their token democrat and ignored his advice.Remember when Clinton did go after them and blew up a Sudanese aspirin or baby food factory and the repubs / right wing media had a field day ascribing sinister motives to it.They did have other opportunities to get him and failed to pull.the trigger due in part to not wanting to take the heat politically if it was botched again, but also to avoid collateral damage and international political fallout..

So are you for Obama ( or any pres.) assassinating suspected terrorists ( including US citizens) abroad without due process? I 'm not. That seems yo be what people are suggesting Bush or Clinton should have done.Little consistency in either side 's arguments.
No, I'm not for assasinating us citizens without due process, I actually started a thread on that not to long ago. Are you claiming this article to be correct saying bush had ability to make decision a year prior to 9/11. Totally incorrect!

By the way, being up here in Conifer you and I ought to go have a few beers on me!

You mean the One Party system. They are all in bed together. They just show the illusion of a right and a left wing to make the voting public think that we have a choice and that our vote will actually matter. But it is all too obvious that neither side will do what's right for the people.

I think you may be misreading that.It seems to be saying that the CI A had intelligence a year before, not Bush, who as you point out was not yet in office. But they did not act upon it for the 8 mos. they did have.I t does seem to excuse Clinton for the same thing, although he did try once and I alluded to the reasons for his reluctance to try again.Sure I 'd have a beer with you, not around Conifers much except going to the rivers near there if that is what you mean.

Well.those of you who think it is just a good cop badcop routine can vote for a third party with no shot to win and find out the hard way what the difference between fascism on steroids and low level fascism is.Maybe then, too late, you 'll appreciate the mitigation the dems do.A third party with a shot is different we do need multiple parties.....a little late for this cycle...we can wish some champion of the people emerges...don ' t hold your breath.Movement politics needs to force the dems to be a real.liberal party with balls as happened with Huey Long 's populism being adopted by FDR.

Failure to act and react

Anyone can be an armchair quarterback, but the simple fact remains that both the Russians and the USA created the monsters we face today with regards to terrorism and terrorists.

Blaming Clinton, Bush or Obama does little to serve the interests of protecting the world from these animals, and they are animals. Unless you have been directly involved in operations in the past or are currently involved in direct actions against these turds, there is little you can add to the fray.

The world is a complicated place with many ideals in play. Some of it scans and some of it doesn't, and that alone can shift with time and circumstance. Predictable outcomes are generally what the public craves and demands. In the types of scenarios we face today, nothing is predictable.

But WTF do I know? I only spent 23 years defending this country and other countries.
And the Lord said, let there be whitewater. So on Friday, the 13th day of the month....

Sure, we created the culture of hate by manipulating other countries through force. The corporations make money, we build hatred and lose soldiers. I have no idea if there is a way to stop this cycle as its been going on for more than a 100 years.
