I think more liberals are laughing at the theatrics then "getting bent out of shape". The teabaggers have every right to protest as they see fit. And I have every right to laugh at them. Freedom of expression at work!
You're right Rip- it's funny, but it's more disturbing and sad than funny.
I have a feeling that if a poll were taken right now, most of the teabaggers on MtnBuzz would have differing views of what it is exactly they are protesting.
It's not that their individual protests are invalid, it's that the force that is instigating the protest cares nothing for the constituency supporting it and they know that if they spit out sound bites about taxation, spending, liberty, etc, the conservatives will provide their own reasons for protesting.
They know that even with the stigma of the "naughty" definition of teabagging, people will jump on the bandwagon- some of the corporate lobbyists are probably even laughing about how easily they get the masses to do the work for them.
Here are the reasons I've heard for the protest:
Stop taxation of the richest 2%.
Stop the unprecedented spending since Obama took office
The actions of the Obama admin are a violation of civil liberties
The taxation policies promote Socialism
It's unfair to have "sin taxes"
I'm sure there are more, but these are the ones that come to mind. So, what is it for you, Buzzards?
