Anyone in work in healthcare in Durango?

Wife and I are planning a move, and Durango is an area we are considering. I'm an RN, and was hoping to get some first hand info on the local hospitals (guess there's two- seems like a small town for that!?). Looks there is plenty to paddle in the area- How long does the town run go? Is there something to paddle (doesn't have to be great, just something) into the fall?

My wife is a RN at Mercy and getting on isn't that easy. Popular place equals a lot of competition for the few jobs they have. We also have a college here that has a nursing program so there are new grads every year entering the job pool. But yes there are plenty of things to paddle in the area. The town run has already peaked and will probably stick around for another 3-4 weeks. (Bad snow year) The San Juan basically runs year round and it's only 2 hours away (Sand Island to Mexican Hat) That's usually our first and last run of the year. It's permitted but easy to get cancelations. Hope this helps. Gumby.
