Yea, sorry for the hijack, but the issue touches a nerve.

The CNN article by the conservative columist Lou Dobbs is interesting. He blasts the Democrats for having 35% of them vote for those things he doesn't like. Strange that he doesn't mention that 90% of the Republicans voted for those things too.

RushisRight, are you saying we need more regulation? I thought Republicans are against regulation.

Yea, Gates, Buffet are real good guys. But, I wish the people with just $50 million would also give more of it away, rather than spend it on private jets, 20,000 sq. ft houses, $7000/week heliskiing, ......

Yah, like Susan Surandon and Barbara Streisand who routinely charge charities $100,000's in appearance fees at fundraisers?

And Lou Dobbs is about as conservative as Al Franken.

And lastly, you're not sorry about hijacking this thread, it's the only way you whiney liberals can ever get anybody to listen to you!

You think that money is going to charity? Non-profit orgs like that don't have to open their books to prove accurate accounting. It is often used as a means to escape the massive taxation that would have occurred if Buffet would have willed those billions to his children. Instead, he "donated" it to their charities...therefore it is not taxed, and they can still use the money however the hell they want. It's a rich man's loophole. And don't even get me started on Rockefeller. The Rockefeller foundation litterally started WWII and the euthinization of Jews through it's "Eugenics" research and funding. Beleive it or not, the "Sterilization" of "feeble" minded people began here in the us. I think over 30 states adopted laws permitting the killing of people deemed feeble minded...which included mental patients and minorities, and children of mental patients, under the beleif that our gene pool was being poluted (although they had no idea what a gene was at that time) because feeble minded people reproduced more than the "normal" citizens, and it would eventually lead to a population of idiots and nut jobs. The Rockefeller foundation even paid the wages for Auschwitz SS agents, and funded the eugenics research there. What type of research were they funding?

"Mengele prowled the railroad lines leading into Auschwitz, looking for twins--a favorite subject of psychiatric geneticists. On arrival at Mengele's experimental station, twins filled out ``a detailed questionnaire from the Kaiser Wilhelm Institute.'' There were daily drawings of blood for Verschuer's ``specific protein'' research. Needles were injected into eyes for work on eye color. There were experimental blood transfusions and infections. Organs and limbs were removed, sometimes without anesthetics. Sex changes were attempted. Females were sterilized, males were castrated. Thousands were murdered and their organs, eyeballs, heads, and limbs were sent to Verschuer and the Rockefeller group at the Kaiser Wilhelm Institute.

In 1946, Verschuer wrote to the Bureau of Human Heredity in London, asking for help in continuing his ``scientific research.''"

But hey, don't take my word for it...there are tons of things out there that show how "great" that charity was/is. What a contribution to society the Rockefeller fortune has been!

Here's a nice little article on it, but I urge you to search more:
http://www.tetrahedron.org/articles/..._Genocide.html

Anyways...back to the actual thread I started...my problems are my own doing, not the result of the government or society. I just want to get rid of my house so I can go back to working one job, have a life again, and move to Oregon. Plus, I can't really live here with my main sewer line broken, not being able to shower or do dishes or laundry or poop. And I can't afford to fix it. I know foreclosure is not a good thing. I guess I'll look into how I can get a loan to cover a larger loss on the house, and sell it for less than I owe. Then maybe it will sell?

P.S. - Anyone know how long a foreclosure stays on your credit? The typical 7 years...or is it longer for a foreclosure?

Sorry basil I am not a republican I am a conservative. I generally agree that the less governement the better. However If the liscencing cuts down on fraud which in turn reduces the number of forecloures then it would be good for all. This is not a new burea just the basic background check and finger print of brokers. Nice try though.

Although the foreclosure market is a great time to buy bargins and I am sure someone will chime in on how that is bad for someone else. Another victim who couldn't pay their bills.

I still don't understand the rage and hate towards people that have more money than you. And why is 50 million the magic number? That is what makes america great you can have 50 million dolloras and do what you want with it. What about people that do earn it themselves? They are ok but anybody that didn't earn it on their own sucks. Who the fuck cares.

Worry about yourself. If you spent less time thinking america and everyone in it sucks you might realize the real opportunity here.

Except he does say this:

"This Republican-led, do-nothing Congress is on its way home for a five-week vacation. I'm sure while there, they'll be glad to explain to their constituents why they need so much rest in a year in which they will work fewer than 80 days. The Republicans in Congress have little to brag about when they return home."

And this:

"the Democrats are now buried as deeply in the pockets of their corporate masters as are the Republicans."

And this:

"This Congress, Republican-led with complicit Democrats, has cut $13 billion in college-student aid, passed numerous free-trade agreements that threaten good-paying jobs and approved an unconscionable bankruptcy law written by credit-card companies that is nothing less than a federal government heel in the neck of American families bankrupted by catastrophic illness and crushing medical bills."

I would hardly consider this an endorsement of Republicans..

Hopefully you had someone good look at it, my landlord had 2 different guys tell him that the only way to fix the clog in the sewer pipe was to dig it out and completely replace it to the street a few years back, another guy came out with a camera and found a few roots and a small obstruction and was able to auger it out and say that it should be fine for some years to come.

My folks had the same thing done. They also had to remove the tree that was getting into the casing.
