Men have just as much right to weigh in on the abortion issue as women.
That being said, once a child is born, men and women can each choose or not choose to nurture, love, feed, diaper change, chauffer, attend P/T conferences, and everything else that parenting is about. Pregnancy is, unfortunately, a very female responsibility.
It includes nausea, weight gain, depression, loss of physical abilities, loss of freedom to make certain decisions (e.g. alcohol consumption), permanent physical changes, various possible medical consequences and any number of unpleasant reactions. These symptoms are hers alone. Therefore women inevitably feel ownership of the decision to abort. Some women are against abortion for any reason; some approve but not for themselves; still some use it as birth control.
In the end, women have to decide if pregnancy is right for them, before they can even decide if parenthood is. Gentlemen, try to be sensitive as you decide how you feel about abortion.
