Stay away from summit over the gaper break

We witnessed two accidents that don't happen to people that normally ride.

1) A ittle tike...prob 9-13 tried to get on the poma lift on the top of copper's spalding bowl. He grabbed the bar, put it between his legs and then the first t-bar caught the second t-bar. The first t-bar took off but was still connected to the stationary second bar and the kid held on for dear life as he was lifted to the hight of the wire then dropped. (like this \/) As the bars separated he shot up then fell from about 15-20 feet down to the snow. Then the next bar came by and smacked him before the lift attendent could stop the lift.
The kid walked away hopefully unharmed.

2) Later that day, two lifts in front of us a kid fell off of a lift chair (20-30 feet). When we passed it looked like he was unconcious. The ski patrol was quick to him. But it looked like they were about to start CPR. Then behind us his Mom was yelling, "that is my son can I get off." When the patrol responded, "No, stay on the lift to the top." I guess in her frantic state she wanted to jump off too. The kids brother or friend was on the lift with him. Fowlplay or mess'in around?

Crazy carnage day. If you go up there Watch your back for out of control gapers.

Hope those kids are OK

There has been way too much carnage out there lately. Since the new year there have been deaths at Whistler, Breck, and wolf creek. I think they were all on a blue, groomed run, with a helmet, typically make teens. So please be carerfull out there and when there is mountain staff slowing people down it is for a good reason, so bear with them for this week.

Did you folks really expect anything but a madhouse over the Christmas / New Year Holiday?

Nah I never would have expected a madhouse in Colorado over Christmas, I thought I was gonna have knee deep blue-black groomers to myself all day and ride the chairlift with single moms.

Doesn't mean I'm gonna stop callin it for what it is.

This is why I went from being a park monkey/inbounds rider to backcountry rider/sledneck!

This is the first year in 20 that I haven't had a season pass & I don't miss it at all.
