backcountry gates
I am a ski patroler and hate gates that require more work and verticle than just ducking a rope high up. Gates are put in be the national forest service, not a patrol choice, for the safety of the texans and nebraskans that dont know any better about getting spit out directly into avy terrain. Every county has different rules (Eaglevail is different than summit as well as utah etc.) Check in with patrol for local rules. we dont like inforcing rules all the time, but sometimes a knowledgeable person ducks a rope and a dumb@ss follows tracks and gets into trouble. Try aspen, pitkin county has great gates at the top of the hills.
