AT Binding mounting position

I just got my first pair of AT bindings mounted, and they seem REALLY far back on the ski. The center is about 5 or 6 inches behind the center mark on the ski. My skis are on the short side, 163's, but I'm 5'6" and it's only my second year on alpine skis. Is this positioning normal? How will this effect my ability to turn? Did the ski shop just eff up? Help a girl out.
