Thanks for your help Saturday. That crew, or rather their leader, should be added to the "Be Careful Who You Let on Your Permit" thread. They should also buy you a new throw bag.
What a bunch of crap - the leader of that group was completely disconnected. While he may have been a competent boater (I will never know) he had no business putting those other eight people on the river. He didn't even realize one carload of his people hadn't arrived at the meeting spot until it was time to get going. Turns out none of those paddlers wanted to be there. They appeared to have no experience. He puts them in an old bucket boat. The wrap rock was the third thing they hit before you even got in your boat! I don't think his daughter had ever seen significant whitewater before. She never dipped an oar and just sat there while her boat ran sideways through the white mile.
And to top it all off, he had called me the night before to make sure I would show up and that I had experience.
I have met some of the best people on Mountainbuzz, including my Saturday passengers who kicked ass. My record just changed a little.
Thanks for the help, the beer and nice to meet you.
