Lost Sawyer Oar Upper Colorado

Lost 10' Sawyer Oar - Rainbow Color with Fir Blade. Name and Address are inlaid in the oar. The oar was a gift and would love to get back.

Here is the deal. It is in the river a little bit below needle eye. Right where the river bends left at a large rock/cliff directly above the old cabin on river left. The oar is about 5-7' underwater in swift current. I saw it go to the bottom of the river and get caught. Attached to the oar is my oar tower and cobra oarlock. These are weighting the oar down in the current, and likely caught in a rock.

There is a chance it moves downstream, but I bet it stays put and in low fall-winter water will be highly visible.

If you float this section, can you look down in the water middle river right after the the rock-wall. If you can still see it there please let me know.

The oar tower was lost when my boat grazed the rock wall, and tower hit the rock, oar tower sheared off. The oar was attached to the tower with a tether. Lost the whole thing. If anybody is teathering their oar to their tower, you may want to switch and make sure you teather to your frame. This was kind of a freak thing, but the lost gear could had been avoided.

Thanks a bunch and hope to hear from somebody!

Thanks for looking. I doubt flows are low enough to see it yet, but maybe. Look down right after you skirt the big rock/cliff wall on river right, just upstream of a beach on river left and the old cabin remains. Cheers.
