After a very wet rogue trip last month I'm considering doing the same. I found some material in Caldwell, near Boise, that they were calling coated ripstop. I've commissioned (begged) a friend with a sewing machine to help me out. I had thought of sewing 1" webbing along the edges and seams and sewing in the steel rings to go atop the oar handles at the corners. Any suggestions on sizing, patterns etc would be appreciated....
