Mutant

Mitch at your weight the Mutant should be perfect. The Mutant has a directional style hull. The widest part is behind the seat. This means that when your paddling you should really sit up. The more forward you sit, the more control you'll have. You can always take things too far- if you find the boat sluggish or the bow is plowing too much: move the seat back an inch.

The Mutant is a fast feeling kayak. It get to speed quick and turns quickly. But, don't be a back seat driver.

i am 140 lbs, and coming from a java, the mutant is amazing. its faster, more maneuverable and easier to boof. i've had no problems with it back-endoing, although many people list it as one of its downfalls, all in all... i love it
