WRSI official Face Protection information

Sorry that this information is coming a little late in the posting game, but we've been super busy here at WRSI creating products that improve safety and protection on the river while not killing your wallets.

So, here it is:
Grey Camo w FPS.jpg

Our attachable face protection system (FPS) attaches to all 2007 and future Current models. It is sold separately and will retail for $39.95. We are expecting it to be ready at the end of this year or the beginning of next year. If you would like to be added to our list of people to directly contact when the FPS becomes available, please send me your name and email address to kasey@whitewaterhelmet.com. Also, please never hesitate to contact me directly with future questions about WRSI. I'm always available!

Cheers,

Kasey Ankney

That's super weak when a company copies another one so blatantly. You would think shredder would be able to come up with their own ideas. This is as bad as predators copy of sweet which bombed. I'm sure shred ready's will bomb as well. Companies are much more successful when they are original. At the OR show WRSI said they have patants on both their look and the removable face mask. I'm sure they will let shred ready know now that "kasey" above saw shredders posts.

We did not copy anything at all period. We started from scratch and sculpted the helmet, face mask and ear covers. Second, the our face mask is not removable, to many variables with people not attaching correctly and a high probability of liabilities. Most people are saying it resembles an earlier model we did the Phly.

Looks great. Will it only come in Gray or can we get colors to match our existing helmets?

I hate that half of this thread is about this other helmet. You would think someone (shedder) would start another thread if they wanted to talk about another product.

We will only be producing gray FPS (face protection system) this year, but we are always up for suggestions for future production.

Well as you know all boaters are good looking people with impeccable senses of style (I mean they are buying WSRI's, right?). Some people might like the gaurd to match the helmet.

Word! I'm feelin ya on the "kayakers are stylie" comment. Actually, that is one of the reasons why we chose gray as the color. We felt that it was most compatible with all 10 colors that we are offering in 2008. Also, we have to keep our retailers in mind. They don't like it when we add 10 new sku's to their line-up so we have to choose wisely and try to please everyone all at once. It's tough, but I think everyone will be stoked on the availability of an affordable face protection system that is compatible with their playboating helmet. Truly, I hope the affordability of our FPS will enable more people to wear it and ultimately reduce injuries and deaths. That is wear the idea stems from.

Has anyone tried out the WRSI Full Face yet? I am interested, but looking for some first-hand knowledge.

Anyone from WRSI, where are they carried on the front range?

I bought one at Confluence Kayaks a few days ago. It snapped in without any problems and seems pretty sturdy. I havn't tested it in the river yet but I did where it during some pretty rough sex with a hooker and it performed pretty well....no bruises at all...teeth in check. I let her wear for a bit as well and here is what she had to say, "At first I was like, this is going to cost you extra. But then I realized how cool I looked and safe I felt, so I let him test with a few donkey punches and I got a say, this helmet with the full face addition is the shit."
