I laid 4 frayed inches under the wrap to start then put 7 loose wraps at the end of the wrap and pulled the rope under it, I left 3 foot to grab onto and pull with all my might why standing on the oar then hammered down the bulge . I then epoxied the last 6 wraps and tapered them down to the oar shaft on both ends. It was a long wrap ended up being 27.5 and that was 77 foot of 3/16
Not to be too much of a dumb ass, but...after you yarded on the 3' you used to grab onto it got longer than 3' because you tightened the loose
7 right? Then you must have had to trim it, right? And when you say, tapered them down to the shaft what do you mean. Great looking job by the way.
