Whitewater kayak seat pad options

I took my Wavesport Diesel out for the first time in a lake last weekend to practice rolling and within twenty minutes my bony butt was killing me. Is it recommended to add one of the aftermarket seat pads, or just tough it out until I get used to it?
I've seen reviews for the NRS and the Padz seat pads saying they're thin enough that they don't effect center of gravity. But none of the reviews I've read have made a specific reference to whitewater.
