I agree, OC1 is a great way to have fun on the river - thankfully, I learned in the Southeast, where there are lots of OC1 boaters. Much agreed that class II and III are amazing in a canoe - I run IV and V in my raft and the OC makes the smaller stuff seem much more fun! I will say, I have not even seen ONE open boater in Colorado and I am on the Arkansas, Clear Creek and the Upper Colorado almost every weekend April -September! If there is anyone out there who would like to paddle together, please PM me - I live in Denver, but I am down to paddle sections on the S.Platte, Upper C, Ark, CC, Poudre, St. Vrain, Roarking Fork, Taylor, Eagle, etc. I am not the best canoeist out there, but I really enjoy paddling with other OC1ers! C'mon Colorado, where's the OC love at!!!
