I tried on the S/M size, and tried to fit it to my head using all of the fit pad sizes, and a few different combinations of 'em. I got it to fit correctly and snugly on my head, but to me, (could be different with other people), but to me, the SHELL of the helmet felt too small and did not provide enough forehead protection for my liking. Nor did the back retention system on it feel as reliable as it did on the M/L Shell.

Might be a good idea to try both on in a shop and fully adjust both of them correctly to your head to see what would be best.

Good Luck.

If you're going to stick it out there, don't be afraid to get it cut off.

I have the same peanut head as you, and the small fits great.
